I’m so excited to share that The Wrong Key is officially live! This collection brings together stories by M.C.V. Egan, AJ ‘Theewriter’ Lee, M.M. Nightly, Rorry Right, and me, Melissa Acosta, with mystery, suspense, and unsettling possibilities waiting inside.
The idea was simple: the wrong key.
What each author did with it? That’s where things got interesting.

From a town where outsiders aren’t welcome to a masquerade party with more at stake than anyone expected, these stories explore the distance between curiosity and catastrophe. Sometimes danger announces itself. Sometimes it invites you in and lets you get comfortable first.
Helping bring this collection into the world has meant a lot to me. There’s something special about watching different writers take the same starting point and head somewhere entirely their own. Each brings a different voice, a different kind of tension, and another reason to hesitate before turning the page.
I also had the pleasure of editing stories for this collection, so I’ve spent plenty of time with its secrets. Getting to finally share the finished book feels pretty damn good.
